General
In addition to its activities within the BioSoil Group, BioSoil R&D also conducts research for third parties. This research involves standardized investigations into degradation rates and feasible treatment results for specific locations. Various methods are applied for contaminants that degrade either in the presence or in the absence of oxygen (aerobic and anaerobic conditions respectively). Mineral oil and PAHs require aerobic conditions, whereas most chlorinated hydrocarbons and a number of pesticides only degrade under anaerobic conditions.
BioSoil R&D also conducts pilots, which enable practical small scale testing of remediation plans.
Apart from practical research BioSoil R&D may also offer support in developing or assessing (second opinion) remediation concepts.
